Breakfast in Bed!

Well today is Mother's Day and I guess I sort of got breakfast in bed.....
I boarded my plane at midnight on Friday and after flying for 9 hours and crossing the date line, the nice flight attendant woke me at 6am to serve cheesy eggs and hash browns. Not exactly what I wanted at the time.... maybe a nice comfy bed and another ten hours sleep before toast and marmalade would be my ideal! Anyway I am now in New Zealand for a few hours so escaped through customs and took the skybus into the city for a look around. The customs guys told me it was a waste of time as nothing is open on a Sunday. As I have 7 hours to waste I couldn't see the point of sitting around yet another airport lounge.
Auckland it seems is still as quiet on a Sunday as it was 30 years ago when we arrived here on a Sunday at 7pm and found there was no where to eat in the city as even the take away hamburger shops closed at 6pm. We did find a very expensive restaurant just closing their doors and the Chef agreed to cook us a ham steak that we both agreed was the best we had ever tasted. Today of course I found Starbucks!
I visited the Sky Tower which is just a little higher than the one we went to in Vienna - passed on going to the top though! Partly because Sarah is not here to hold my hand and partly because it is dearer than all the other incredibly high and scary things we have been on! OK OK it is mostly because I ain't going up there on my own! Too high!
In a few hours I will be back on board my last flight in this journey and get to see my honeymoon hubby at Melbourne airport.
Oh and the extremely frustrating thing that happened in Hawaii was me leaving my phone on the charger in the hotel lobby! My driver was going to go back for me when I realised but when he phoned the hotel they said it wasn't there. I called again just before I boarded and they said the security guard had handed it in.... Unfortunately too late for me to retrieve it! Now I have to wait for it to be shipped. So if you can't reach me on the phone.......
